Second Chance Prom returns bringing end-of-the-world mayhem to The Hennepin on Saturday, June 20

A late-90s throwback meets apocalypse fantasy dancing like it’s your last night

TICKETS GO ON SALE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC ON FRIDAY, APRIL 24 AT 10 A.M.

MINNEAPOLIS (April 23, 2026) — Hennepin Arts has announced that Second Chance Prom is returning with Promageddon! On Saturday, June 20 at 7 p.m. at The Hennepin (900 Hennepin Ave.). Second Chance Prom is a campy, end-of-the-world-themed adult prom inspired by the 1998 blockbuster Armageddon—so dress like it’s your last night on Earth and dance to throwback hits (yes, including Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”) performed live by Twin Cities favorite, Al Church and Friends.

Tickets go on sale Friday, April 24 at 10 a.m. to the general public at the State Theatre Box Office (805 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis) and online at HennepinArts.org.

The Hennepin

Whether you missed out on prom the first time or just want a do-over, join the fun on June 20 on the third floor at The Hennepin, featuring a classic wood spring dance floor. Lean into the Late 90s vibe with butterfly clips, boy bands, Britney, and TRL-era nostalgia, or go full “asteroid aftermath” with ripped formalwear, space suits, or your own apocalyptic twist.

You don't want to miss this thing!

Al Church and Friends is comprised of rock gods Jourdan Myers (Vocals, Keys) Evan Fox (Vox, Bass) Alex Young (drums), Pete LaVoie (Saxophone), and Al Church, a Tony-nominated (Macbeth, 2022) multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from Minnesota.

VIP tickets provide access to the Pre-Prom Lounge at 7 p.m. plus the dance party.

General admission tickets will get you into the dance party at 8 p.m.

Must be 21+ years of age or older to attend – IDs will be checked.
