About Lúnasa Live!
Celtic Junction Arts Center presents Lúnasa, architects of a bold new Irish musical landscape for more than 25 years. Taking their name from the ancient Celtic harvest festival that honored Lugh, god of the arts, these master musicians have woven traditional Irish melodies into something fierce and fresh.
Their numbers tell part of the story: a quarter-million records, 2,500 stages across 36 countries, and spotlights shared with luminaries from Natalie Merchant to Bruce Springsteen. But it's in the listening that you understand why Lúnasa has shaped a generation of Irish music.
The evening features their legendary lineup: Trevor Hutchinson (bassist, formerly of The Waterboys), Cillian Vallely (piper and Riverdance alum), Kevin Crawford (one of Ireland's most celebrated flute players), Sean Smyth (All-Ireland fiddle champion) and Ed Boyd (acclaimed guitarist with Flook and Kate Rusby).
