Artistic Director of the Brave New Workshop, Caleb McEwen, celebrates his 100th production with the renowned theater company’s latest show, The Algorithm is Gonna Get You, playing now through November 7 at Dudley Riggs Theatre.
Caleb has worked as an actor, writer, director, master of ceremonies, public speaker, ballet and modern dancer, and knife thrower throughout his multi-faceted career. While many know him for his work with Brave New Workshop, he has spent time with Ballet Tennessee, The Dayton Contemporary Dance Company and the comedic juggling and knife-throwing ensemble The Danger Committee, which will be opening its 15th holiday production of A Stocking Full of Awesome in December this year.
McEwen joined the Brave New Workshop in 1996, and has taken on many roles during his tenure, including directing, acting, producing and creating dozens of mainstage shows. His first production at Brave New Workshop was in the political satire Campaign in the Neck: The Election is Riggsed. During this production, Dudley Riggs officially registered as a candidate for President of the United States with the Recovery Party and their “12-step plan to save the country." Caleb has performed in seven countries and almost all fifty states with the Brave New Workshop, written comedy for projects from NBC Universal and Comedy Central, appeared on ESPN and won numerous national and international awards for his outstanding work in corporate events and video production.
The Brave New Workshop is the longest-running sketch and improvisational comedy theater in the United States, producing over 400 original productions over the past six decades. Caleb continues to keep the legacy of Dudley Riggs alive with each production of world-class sketch comedy and improv. Here's to the next 100 productions!
Could we change this to "...renowned theater company's latest show, The Algorithm is Gonna Get You..." to avoid the use of the word "production" twice in such close proximity?[CM2]My suggestion: "Caleb has worked as an actor, writer, director, master of ceremonies, public speaker, ballet and modern dancer, and and knife thrower throughout his multi-facted career. While many know him for his work with Brave New Workshop, he has spent time with Ballet Tennessee, The Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, and the comedic juggling and knife-throwing ensemble The Danger Committee, which will be opening its 15th holiday production of A Stocking Full of Awesome in December this year."
